Dr. L. Michael (Mickey) McCloud originally hails from Saginaw, MI. His career in education has included many roles in both the K12 world and the academy, including high school teacher and coach, community college professor, university lecturer and Dean. Dr. McCloud has served in teaching composition, British Literature, Mythology, Women's Literature and African American Literature.
He served Metropolitan Community College (MCCKC) as Associate Dean of Instruction for the Penn Valley campus, where he oversaw the Office of Career and Technical Education, becoming well versed in workforce initiatives and regional educational issues and then as Dean of Instruction and Chief Academic Officer at MCCKC's Blue River campus.
Since 2016 he has served Johnson County Community College, where he acts a Provost and oversees many of the college's initiatives.
